I am, indeed, a shrimper's daughter. Born in 1962, the youngest of 7 children, I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters...along with all that entails! :-P I'm looking forward to learning how to us this blogspot.

This had to have been about 1989....because Philemon is still shorter than Camille! lol The kids would've been 5, 3 and 1. I don't remember why this picture came out so pink. I don't think we had any lenses that would've caused it, so it might've been just old film or something. Regardless, it sure came out a pretty shot. This was at one of the beaches in California. We didn't go as often as we should've. Oh my, look how cute they are here!

Boohoo! I haven't played any of my FB games in so long, I'm feeling I'M the one that doesn't care! (sniffle, sniffle)
I was so into FarmVille when I bought this t-shirt in Corpus... one of those purchases I just had to have! lol
By the way, my apologies...this should've been Thursday's post, but I had such a good day and topped it off by watching TV and, of course, then I woke up and it was 1:00 a.m.! So Thursday got skipped - - I KNEW I'd mess up my good 3-day streak! Will posting two today count? hahahaha

Ok, I'm not getting it... how come the blogs I follow are not listed on my page anywhere? This is annoying me. I would like it to all be on one page like it was before. I think at this point you have to go down to the bottom of my page and click on the link to my profile and then the blogs I follow are on the bottom of THAT page. psssshhhhh Is this blogging thing going to be more trouble than it's worth?

Each year Camille's boyfriend creates a cd of his favorite music from that year. This is the cover art from his 2009 collection. He combined a photo of my daughter with... yes, that's a human heart in the middle of her face! lol I had a hard time figuring out that it was a human heart at first. They had to explain that to me... I thought it looked like a dead and mangled moth and wondered why he'd choose that, hahahahahahaha. (And so much for my own intelligence and making connections, lol. It's artistry of a sort I guess.) He has a link on his Facebook page to the music (and the cover art) if you're interested in taking a look. Marvin Meraz - then go to his Notes page and the links are on there for his 2009 and 2010 collections.

And here I go again.... (lol)
Okay, let's see if I can get this silly blog thing started ... again! (And, of course, I'm not promising anything. lol)
Corpus Christi harbor. The bigger tanker was being loaded with military vehicles - an entire yard full of them! A couple of days earlier I had been in the same area and a smaller ship (similar to the one in this shot) was at the dock by itself and I was amazed, as I always am, at their sheer size and how you feel dwarfed even just seeing them even from a distance. Then this gargantuan ship very nearly dwarfed this smaller one. It's amazing to me that they float! :-P

Okiedokie - here we go....
I had wanted to take part in a 30-day photo-a-day challenge my daughter told me about and had decided to start this past Monday, however, I kept my niece and nephew (greats) and they pretty much kept me on my toes the whole day - I totally forgot about the project until tonight. I would say better late than never, but I'm too tired. I will see how I'm feeling tomorrow...maybe I'll start then. I'll keep the blog posted (no pun intended...lol).
Here's a little something for in the meantime....

Well crud...
So I decided to get started on this blog by posting pictures from when my daughter moved to California and now I can't find where I stored the rest of my pictures from the trip. I thought they might be in one of my online photo accounts, but haven't found them yet. I'm giving myself a couple of more days and then I'm moving on to a new theme...(I can always come back to finish this one up later, right?).
However, I do believe this is an appropriate photo to post for today!
Can anyone say "Ziggy Day!" lol

Hello blog-world - thought I would join the fun and since I don't have necessarily so much to say, I thought I'd make my blog a 'photo place' to start with. I've seen different ones of my family and friends with their photography projects, some of them themed, and thought I'd like to give that a try. This is the first time I've ever added a photo so this is my test piece. I'm thinking a photo a day will be too ambitious for me to start off with, so I'm going to spend a couple of weeks just getting the feel of the process and the blogging system here.
This photo was taken in (I think) Arizona, or perhaps California, when my daughter moved. She and I made her move into a road trip and had a great time of it! So I'm going to cull through some of the pictures and post them a few at a time. I guess that makes the theme of this first set "A Moving Road Trip" - sounds good and covers a lot of bases. Not sure how long I'll spend on it - I'm horrible at deciding which photos to use for stuff - but it'll get my wings to workin' in the blogsphere.
And thus begins my foray into phoblography - sorry - I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make up a new word! lol (and, yes kids, I know that was "dumb" and I know you're laughing at me, but that's okay because I'm laughing at me too! lol) Okiedokie then....here I go.
